The trainees are very exited to be part of the film crew that will record some new stories of women's daily lives in the Niger Delta. What kind of preparations are necessary? First of all to fresh up some of the video skills they learned last year. But also to come up with a script after having selected the lead characters. Through the lead character we want to show topics that are common in the lives of women in the Niger Delta. Like your 'normal' workload of women, what you come across when you've become a widow, or what consequences might be when you have experienced sexual harassment in school.
The three days were full and hectic, rain was trying to distract the programme because we couldn't go outside to do some filming. But in between the showers, the trainees shot some footage of and did interviews with a tailor and sellers of fruits and vegetables. In the end, logistics consumed most of the time. And then finally: off they go. |
